I have Windows 8 with two email accounts, and last night an email came through on my portable Plusnet account used for the laptop which was so big I had to leave the computer on all night, and today it's still 'finishing'. Of course this has meant I can't use my email at all as there's no method to stop it coming in once it's started 'past the point of no return'. Normally you go online and check it on webmail, but it's not there to delete.

I can't use PlusNet assist as it doesn't do W8, and have sent them a message but am asking here as you may beat them and they may take a day or two. I can get my emails online so have to do that now, but Live Mail is currently NBG.

Plusnet won, they replied quickly and said it was a Windows Mail issue, although the rest continued to work the delivery crashed and just needed closing. I haven't been there to try it but it's behaving on the laptop which has the same settings so presumably there is no massive file in the first place or it would have come along here as well. I'll be back if it doesn't...
I hope your computer gets well soon.xx
Windows 8 does not support POP3 email. To use your previous email system you have to change the NET FRAMEWORK settings in Windows 8 back to NetFramework 3.5. Negotiate to the Control Panel type in features and click Turn Windows features on or off . In the dialog box tick NET Framework 3.5 APPLY It ok . Then restart your computer. You should do this before you install your email programs.
