Hi
I recently split from my long term partner and i have 2 children under 5, i made a claim for income support on friday via the phone, the lady said she can also do the claim for housing benefit and council tax benefit too. The forms have been sent completed in post to me so should be here monday-tuesday, i then have to check through, sign and send back. Does anyone know roughly how long it will take for things to process? the lady said i may also get a phonecall to attend an interview with a personal advisor...
Any help is appreciated but please no sarcastic rude answers xx

It will take a few weeks. Have you also phoned tax credits?

Yes i did that straight after hopefull not too long lol
How old is the youngest child?
I wouldn't worry about the personal advisor, it was a stupid idea from the start and yet another Government Uturn but the provisional legislation stands and automated letters from DWP still go out.
I also didn't think they made you attend an interview if you had children under school age.
