Bookmarks To New Laptop From Old Pc

How can I transfer all my bookmarks from my old PC to my new laptop?There are so many that I don't want to lose and there is no way I can do it manually.
So many people get new PC's etc so often I am convinced there must be a way.
I am hopeless when it comes to stuff like this though so if you can help,VERY simple terms please!!

There is a great little free app I use to backup all of my bookmarks in case of that dreaded PC failure. It's called X-marks and is available for all of the main internet browsers. It saves all your fave bookmarks to an external server and you can even import them to several PC's.

Export the bookmarks to a memory stick, then import them onto the new machine.
