Oh dear. I wanted to get a TV recorder for somebody who works anti social hours so misses lots of what she would like to watch. So just won a bid on eBay for BT Vision Box (which I have and is fine). But just remembered she doesn't have BT landline. Only ten pounds, but have I made a mistake?

looks like you will need a 'paid for' BT line to make it work!
why doesn't the person just use iplayer or on demand etc? Or do they not have t'internet?

Thanks Pinkboyid. Looks like it's an item for Freecycle then. And, no, Dotty no access to internet :-(
Stick it back on ebay - you might make a profit.

Thanks Hopkirk. But sounds like its pretty useless to anybody. She'd be embarrassed if I bought her anything too expensive (in her terms).
