On Excel 2007/2010, I would like to know, is there a way of putting various dates all in "02/01/2013" format, lined up horizontally, in order with oldest date to newest day ?

So, on the spreadsheet, the dates in each sell :

09/10/2012 12/09/2012 1/10/2012 19/08/2012 ...... etc etc

Lined up horizontally, but to be put in order.

Anyone help ? I have tried "Oldest to Newest" sort function, didn't work :(

Copy and transpose the row into a column, sort and then copy and transpose back into a row.

hey factor30 - thank you, i have done it :) I was on the right lines but ddint do the 'left to right' sort option.

Many thanks all !
I can't be sure this was how I sorted it but try......

Right clicking on the column/row, select format cells, select 'date', and then try ordering.

Admittedly it's been a while since I've had this battle so I may well be wrong.....
15/01/12 05/05/12 10/09/12 08/10/12 13/12/12

and is the number format set to 'date'?

Ah- sorry I didn't look on second page of answers. Glad you've sorted it.
I usually sort by columns and had forgotten how to sort rows so this was a useful refresher for me, so thanks.
