removal of food in anus

how can you remove items in you anus? If a child stuck a piece of candy up his anus, would it be safe to leave it alone if the object doesn't cause pain? Will the object come out when they go to the washroom?

He went to the washroom already, i'm not sure if it's still in there or not, I pretty sure he's fine. The thing is he doesn't want to go to the doctor because he's embarrassed, but I want to go for a check up just in case, hmm... i'll just watch him for maybe a day or two to see if he's fine, if not then i'll take him to the doctor. It's harder with older kids because if he was 5 years old he won't really be embarassed by things like this. Thanks again for all your great help, and i'm sure he'll be fine, i'll keep an eye on him.

yes, I can see a child that age would be embarrassed - he was probably reluctant to tell even you. It may well already be out by now. And you won't need to tell him not to do it again, he'll have got the message on his own.
