I've been a Norton girl for some years but I have decided not to renew this time.

I'm going with MSE instead. I'm not worried about the money really but it does seem silly to pay when there are free options available.

Can you all just reassure me that MSE is a good choice and let me know if there is anything else I need as well?

Also....do I need to uninstall Norton or shall I just leave it when it expires? Can I download MSE while Norton is still on here?

I'm sure people will reassure you about MSE. maidup, but we are very happy with Norton and what it's seen to be blocking for us - we won't change.

I've always felt the same boxy, but I do get annoyed with the renewal process. Each year they want £65 to renew, yet the new customers can buy for £30. So I refuse the renewal and buy as a new customer and go searching for online offers just out of principle. I was busy doing this when they renewed me automatically on Boxing Day. I was angry but have managed to cancelled it today, and decided its time to investigate the options.
you need to uninstall norton though.
I heartily recommend MSE, always used it for years..no problems.

Anyone else happy to endorse MSE? Or is there a better option?
MSE suits me fine.
MSE is frequently recommended here by our resident computing expert, ChuckFickens. I can't think of a higher recommendation!

Thanks Chris, you're a star
Hmm maidup, I know what you mean - our renewal was due on 13 Nov and they took the direct debit on the 1st. Bit naughty.

If you stay with them Boxy, unclick the auto renewal and just buy new again.
It was £64.99 to renew and £29.99 (reduced from something or other) for new customers. I did that last year plus I had a promo code which took it down another £20.

Coo - that's worth remembering!

See that's enough to make me renew it Methyl! An hour!!!

If it ain't broke......
Haven't used a paid for version of Anti Virus software for many years. Have been using MSE for quite some time now, absolutely no problems.
