It's been going on for months. Past caring who it is now. I think the writers are in danger of losing the interest of the viewers if they don't let us know soon.

Maybe that's something to do with Derek getting killed off?

Yes I think so, I rarely watch EE these days either, so it shows how long they keep on with the same story lines - build up to Christmas episodes I suppose.
