she was talking to a woman whose son was at primary school with me, it seems another boy we were at primary school with died recently.

he had moved to australia, and although the woman didn't have details, it seems it was an illness not an accident that killed him, he left behind a partner and an 8 week old baby.

i was friendly with him but not "friend friend's". i haven't seen him since we left primary school, so it was over 22 years ago, and i probably haven't thought about him since. but it does seems to have shocked me.

As one i am posting it on here, and two at 33 years of age it hardly seems any life to go now and three having a 7 month old child myself it does make you think.

very strange.

just enjoy yourlife and your new baby ,cant dwell on negative thoughts
An old school friend of mine died last year. Similarly , we were at primary school together and we also lived in neighbouring streets so 'hung around together' out of school, but I hadn't seen him a long time. I knew he had a condition whereby his life expectancy was shorter than most, but all that considered I was surprised by how emotional I felt about it when I heard.
Funny the way things can get you.
I think when something like this happens, and you have things in common with the person involved, same age, young children, etc, then it does tend to hit you and make you think about your own life and family.
The news of the death of one of our peers brings the thought of our own mortality so much to the fore. You are right to be sad, but as said above, our job is to carry on and cope the best we can for our young ones.
