I don't - but I have to look when I'm entering numbers, I was away the day they taught the fingering for numbers (no keyboard at the side in those days!)
Nope did touch typing at school and got fingers hit with a ruler if we looked, work on a till most days so don't need to look at the numbers, expect sometimes the numbers are the other way round, ie. 1 is where the 7 is. Now that confuses me.
Complete touch type at work including for numbers and symbols, was never officially taught but seemed to pick it up after many years in admin. If I think about what I'm doing when I'm typing for even a second I seem to lose the knack though... At home I do occasionally have to look at the laptop but it's because it's a mac. That's my excuse anyway!
I can type without looking at the keys but I think that's because i've been brought up with computers. We weren't taught typing.... it just comes naturally! Lol!
I couldn't begin to type without looking at the keys even though I'm on a keyboard all day every day. Only use my 2 index fingers plus thumb for shift.
I'm like Barmaid - I trained as a clerk typist by the BBC over 45 years ago. Have a certificate in typewriting and Pitmans shorthand. Has stood me in good stead for entry into another company and another profession entirely so not regretted one bit.
My mum made me do a Sheidegger (sp) typing course when I was 12! I failed miserably but experience over the years has made me better. I still have to lookl at the mumbers when typing and I use both top ones and numb lock ones.
I taught myself to type about 40 years ago on the good old typewriter. On computers now I find the keys are too close together and often hit the wrong one if Im not concentrating. But most of the time I dont look , as I know where the keys are, its just hitting them spot on. I have good days and bad days too where sometimes you would think Im dyslexic :>)
