Does US racing have 'handicap' races as in UK

yes.
In the United States over 30 handicap races are classified as Grade I, the top level of the North American grading system.
I remember when I used to watch old black and white films featuring horse racing the horses were pulling little carts, with jockeys sitting in the cart. Do they still do that?
Is this it, Factor 30

That's it, glasman, thanks. I meant to say it was always on old US films. Do they still use those carts in the US?
Yes Factor
Romans factor30 ?
I think they do factor, if I remember correctly they call it "Trotting"
You should Google 'Harness racing'.
Not that I'm aware of
Thanks, Mick.
Ignore sibbo....she has been out of it for 11 days (could be 12)
I ignore her at my peril - she holds it against me when she thinks I'm ignoring her
Trotting is a big sport in France
