I got a parking ticket tonight. wheel just over the double yellow.
Although there is a time from time on the ticket there is no time till.
Also though they got the registration correct they got my car as GOLD but it is silver.
Is there anything I can do to get out of paying ?
Thanks

Probably not. My husband appeals every single parking ticket he gets, mainly to pee the council off but also by law of averages you will win some. He thinks if everyone who gets a ticket appeals it the authorities etc would collapse under the weight of the paperwok.

is it a council ticket or issued by the police???

write to them and ask for a stay of execution expressing POLITELY your issues and concerns.

wait for their reply. If you pass the attitude test there is a good chance you will get off.

Further you always have the fallen leaves/rubbish defence which was hindering the view of the double yellows. Ask if a photo was taken.

Good luck.

It was a police ticket
write to the chief officer of police at the respective HQ. Outline everything without being cocky. You never know!

Colour mistake won't come into it i'm afraid. A gold car at night might well look silver to some people. Purple may look black etc.

What do you mean by time from, time on and time till.

Frizzytwig...why? he's only wasting his own time at the end of the day the person who opens his letter is getting paid to do it. Also thats partly why some councils are now not allowing appeals at the discounted rates.

I know Coobeastie, you ca't tell him. I'm sure he's on a one man mission to eradicate the world of parking tickets. Mind you, he has got off paying a couple of times, and a victory over a council with the parking ombudsman. So long as I don't have to keep filling in the forms or typing letters I just let him get on with it.
you may be able to get off with it on a technicality as all the paperwork has to be completed accurately and it isn't

coobeastie is right. The colour won't make any difference.

A long time ago, a friend parked partly on a yellow line and he got the ticket cancelled on the grounds that it had been placed on the legally-parked end of the car. I'm sure the authorities are now better trained and it wouldn't work these days.
