I enjoyed secret smile (especially the last 10 minutes!) and was just wondering what the deal was with the sister's friend - laura. they showed a shot at the end of her going to australia but they showed her dead in the bath at the beginning of the episode . . . did i miss something?! thanks!

It wasn't Laura it was Miranda getting into Australia by using Laura's passport.
