..Thankfully no problems, but over the past two years my dentist has taken to just looking at my fillings in her little mirror rather than gently prodding them to assess their soundness.I've never known this practice before, have you?

I've noticed the same and the lack of xray too. On my next visit I decided to tell her I had a sensitivity around a random area of teeth and that prompted her to do xrays.

Part of me is happy to come away with nothing wrong but I klnow its a waste of time getting there, parking and waiting around just to pass the time of day and have a mirror popped in and out of the mouth. I think we have to prompt a little more action these days.

They are robbers, I lost a filling from my tooth which has become broken and jagged it had already been filled twice (the only filling I have). After waiting 3 weeks for an appointment I was expecting her to take the tooth out altogether. But she has built it up again at the cost of £48. I've still got a good few left of my own but it's costing me nearly £18 every six months just to look at them.

My Polish dentist just shoves the mirror in my mouth and within 30 seconds has finished the examination, twice a year for £18 what a rip off. Only NHS dentist in the area with vacancies.
my dentist of over 30 years always asks if any problems, has a poke around and does a clean up for £17, money well spent.
