So cycling's "officials" have finally decided that the "technicality" that put Vicky P and Jess Varnish out of the Team Sprint was a ludicrous and absurd rule.

And so they've changed it.

And, under the new, sensible, regulations, Bicky and Jess would have gone through to the Final and, given that they'd set a new World Record in the previous round, would have won Gold.

It's a bit bloody late now !!!

I know, I know, gness ...

One shouldn't get worked up about it. But I was SO upset when it happened. Watching those pea brained dick heads wandering backwards and forwards with their stupid clipboards, before relegating the girls from the heat.

I just wanted to throw something at the telly.

And they've finally realised what a pathetic rule it actually was!
And it's almost like rubbing in salt now.....how they must be feeling. :-(
Vicky P has got a world record issued by me. She is the world's most beautiful professional cyclist!
That decision was one of the few downers during the olympics.
It may be a stupid rule but it's a stupid rule that champions should be aware of and if the cyclists are stupid enough to break it, they pay the consequences. It's unfortunate that the one who did not break the rule also had to suffer but.

Corby ... you are right ... technically, LOL
It may have been a stupid rule but it is one they were all aware of and had to abide by.
Yes, I'm afraid TCL is correct, stupid rule, more stupid not to take it into account. This sort of thing is how the rules of sports evolve. If you know something will get you disqualified then that must form part of the training in the sport.
