So there's this clip being circulated where, in 1987, Jerry Sadowitz "outs" Jimmy Savile for interfering with minors.

As a result of this outrageous slur against the divine Saint Jimmy, the broadcasting authorities pretty much buried Jerry Sadowitz's mainstream career.

Although he swears a lot, and has a dodgy Scottish accent, should Jerry Sadowitz get some recognition as the person who could have prevented 25 years of misery for a lot of people ... if only people hadn't been "shocked" by his outburst?

The Daily Mail thinks its genuine ...

... so it must be!
//That clip was not recorded in 1987. It's fake//

is a pretty bald assertion hc: what makes you say that?
The BBC showed his Pall Bearers Revue series in 1992, so it doesn't make sense to say the authorities scuppered his career because of what he did in 1987.

In fact, isn't he on a current sitcom - Walking and Talking?
that wasn't my question though hc
Question Author
Well if that's the case, hc ... the BBC had one of their own stars knowing what Jimmy S was doing, and having tried to release a record featuring the revelations ... but say they never had any suspicions whatsoever about Saint Jimmy.
Question Author
hc ... I hope that didn't sound like I was being sharp towards you.

Apologies if it did.

I was just responding to your point ... but reading my own post, it sounds a bit snappy.

Don't forget Jerry Sadowitz makes Frankie Boyle look like a nun - he's made very crude and vile 'jokes' about everyone - Princess Di, Nelson Mandella, the Pope, anyone in the public eye.

Nobody could take seriously any allegations he makes in his stand up routines.
As the clip was only posted on Youtube two days ago . . . it does appear to be new material.
according to wiki his act including the saville gag was released on the 'gobshite' album in 1987, but that info could all be edited on wiki

Jerry Sadowitz has been nasty about The Pope?

That's terrible.

Not the same Pope who was in charge of investigating the child abuses when he was a Cardinal?

Not the same Pope who had information about the child abuse and covered it up?

The Pope who gave child-abusing priests jobs in other roles so that they would not have to answer for their crimes?

The Pope who formally declared that any Catholic who passed information about child above to any authorities outside he church would be excommunicated?

The Pope who was therefore, more than anyone else, culpable for the continuation of systematic child abuse?

That Pope?

Jerry Sadowitz was rude about him?

That's terrible.
hc, I'm not looking to argue, my point is only that asserting
//That clip was not recorded in 1987. It's fake//

is a long way from the opinion

//Nobody could take seriously any allegations he makes in his stand up routines//
Question Author
//according to wiki his act including the saville gag was released on the 'gobshite' album in 1987, but that info could all be edited on wiki//

... according to Wiki ... and to Daily Mail columnist Martin Samuels, who says he has a copy of the album.
Jerry Sadowitz GobShite Part 1 and 2 is on youtube.
if that's true (and note you can't see his lips moving), it's very prescient. I'm getting a bit tired of people claiming they knew all along but didn't get around to mentioning it before.

hc, what are your grounds for saying it's a fake?
