I heard a talk by a torchbearer last week, the design of the torch was interesting to hear about, it was three sided first to reflect the three Olympic values, and secondly because it's the third time that London has hosted the Olympics. The runners had to carry it with the Olympic logo at the front, and the 8000 holes in it represented the 8000 people who carried the flame.
yep, it's deja vu. All over again.

I actually prefer Chuck's other name...............
Which other name is that?
Good answer or is it a question Mike. Sorry I meant Chuck. Oh sh.. I am now getting all confused and flying the flag upside down.

Ron.
That's my fave................:-)
Thank you for the link Ron, I was afraid that they would be left with the detrius of the Games. Btw I know I sound stupid but I honestly can't tell the difference which way up the Union flag should be.
Well I like it : )
The red diagonal St Patrick's Cross isn't centered in the white diagonal St Andrew's Cross, and the wider white part should towards the flagpole...

Sorry... the wider white part should be *on the top* towards the flagpole...
^^ check the earlier link..
The Ed has the flag the right way up on the top of this page....Broad white stripe at topmost corner of flagstaff. :-

Ron.
Ah so, thanks chuck, I'll be looking out for it now.
<<slumps in gratitude to vivandron>>

although you mow have a lifetime of irritated tutting ahead
Flying that flag upside down would be useless as a signal of distress because it looks much the same either way up. But flying the red ensign would work, because anyone could tell that was upside down. Was taught that once, as one of the several methods to be used at sea, if nothing else could be done. I think it ranked below setting fire to a barrel of pitch on the deck, which was another!
tsk *now
I agree Fred...only hope your comment doesn't start another 3596 postings.

Ron.
