hi, how long after a total hip replacement can i get back on my all terrain bike and cycle again. i'm not to mow, hoe or hoover for some months yet, hich is fine by me! but i love cycling.

The answer may be different for each person- you probably need to ask your doctor
There is no right or wrong answer to this question as patient's recovery varies as do Orthopaedic Surgeon's advice.

The problem is not cycling, but falling off, which you could do after 2 months. 6 months or indeed anytime.
My advice would be anytime after 4 months that you feel confident with your new hip.......then off you go.

Confidence varies from patient to patient and from 4 months to years.

thank you, my doctor and physios are not keen esp since my earlier stroke left my brain ignoring my left hand side and left side vision is not good but i'm still plodding on best as i can love from wheaten
