Trevvi, are you in Unison? It would be worth speaking to your local rep about this. I am not in the union but I still get some useful advice about staffing matters from our site rep.
Why did the police inform the NMC? I can only think that it came up on your CRB enhanced check (I am pretty sure your check would be at enhanced level) - how do you know it was the police and not your employer? or
As you know, the NMC Code of Conduct says: "be trustworthy You must behave in such a way that upholds the reputation of the professions. Behaviour that compromises this reputation may call your registration into question even if it is not directly connected to your professional practice. " Was there any thing else about your charge that might have led the police to worry, eg children in the house when it took place, anything like that? I still think you need to seek professional advice.

hi there thanks, yes it was the police as this has been confirmed they have a duty . But what i am upset about was yes it was at home and it was between myself and my partner and that has all been resovled, and there is no children at all ,then i would understand, but as i stated i followed all protocal to employers they accepted CRB FULL ENHANCED RESULTS and have been happy. i thought that because of these checks and honesty NMC would have also known ,not that i had to tell them directly, thanks
how would the NMC know? Either you (preferably) or the police have to tell them
How did you get on with this? I do hope you weren't struck off
