Good Sunday,
We got top quality cubed alalfa hay cubes instead of feeding inferior quality hay and they waste probably 40% of it.
We opened bag, looks just like little green hay bales. Smells really fresh.
I measured out Sadies (lactating doe) weight and Rambo's (withered) weight and gave them both in their feed bowl. Neither one showed any interest in it. I think one of em smelled it alittle.
My question is: Is there anything I can pour over these little bales that will make them irrestible to eat. Then I could very slowly take away the whatever gets them to eat the cubes and I could get them totally on hay cubes and a little sweetfeed.

Thanks,
Mark

well the usual suggestions are molasses (black treacle) or grated carrot
Why not feed good quality hay - there would be no waste then and they would enjoy feeding, which is a big part of their day.
