I'm going a bit outside of my comfort zone and am making marinated ribs, spicy potato wedges and jalapeno coleslaw this evening. No idea why as I'm not a huge ribs fan!

Tomorrow I'm planning butternut squash gnudi woth sage butter to start followed by roast chicken with pesto, steamed broccoli with toasted almonds and new potatoes and an apple tarte tatin to finish.

Wow what a lot of food, do you have visitors?

We tend to stick to one course and will have pizza and salad tonight and roast veggies with sprouting brocolli tomorrow night.
whats a gnudi?
Tonight we'll be having an indoor picnic of cheeses, fresh bread pickles etc washed down with some wine and tomorrow it's roast lamb and roast veg.
I don't know what a gnudi is, either.
is it a dead Gnu?

No, no visitors. We don't usually have multiple courses other than on a Sunday.

The gnudi that don't get cooked will be frozen and we can have them as a mid week supper with salad.

Gnudi are the filling of ravioli etc hence they are 'nude'. Like gnocchi but lighter.

Roast a squash, mash it up with ricotta, seasoning, 00 flour. Roll into sausages, cut into 1" pieces and drop into boiling water. When it rises to the surface it is cooked. Dress with a sage butter, pesto, grated parmesan & olive oil...whatever you fancy...
That sounds extremely good, eccles.

Ratty, your supper tonight is my favourite meal when I'm home alone. I love a plate of nibbly bits that I can tuck into through the course of the evening.
slow cooker turkey stoo with homebaked sourdough tonight...possibly the same tomorrow. Icecream (ben and jerry) or cheese.
Sounds lovely, but for over 3months I went off food, am just taking tea and toast, don't know why, I am not slimming or trying to lose weight.
Hope you and yor friends have a wonderful evening.
Hey Eccles, can I come join you guys please?!
I am on my own this weekend as OH is off on a stag do. Had thought about treating myself to dinner at the pub opposite as the food is gorgeous but have decided to be good and cook up a load of bolognese so I can have some for lunch during the week and can freeze some too :-) aren't I a good girl!
We're going to a Murder Mystery evening tonight with a hog roast included......

You are more than welcome to join us Wiggal. It is so satisfying doing batch cooking, opening the freezer mid week and taking out a homemade ready meal, you can't beat it.
Thank you :-)

Have been meaning to do batch cookingnthe last couple of weeks as the diet the better half is on means that we tend toeat different meals.

I love anythings bolognesey or with mince in and could happily eat it for dinner and lunch all the time, so hoping it turns out good tonight!
Friends for lunch today- had been planning a BBQ, but woke to drizzly murk instead of sun :+(

Rapid rewrite of menu - raided my freezer for some home-made chicken&leek soup, picked up some braising steak from the farm shop & turned it a quick bouef bourguignon, with pommes vapeur and fried spring greens - then had a Christmas pudding and some custard - comfort food for a dreary day.

Will be living on sausages/lamburgers/kebabs for a while now though ...
About to be given a surprise by OH that he's never cooked before (I'm a bit worried because I know it has stout in it). Tomoorow I'm doing roast lamb.
No idea. Tomorrow is my birthday and Mr Frog is taking me out for dinner. But given that it's April Fool's Day, it could be joke shop cuisine.
Just got home from my first day at work.(Really just a meet and greet and company policy day) More of the same tomorrow. Cooked a chorizo and scollop linguine for us and now doing homework for sundays' meetings. Tomorrows food will be anybodies guess!
