For the past couple of weeks there has been a bullfinch coming to the windows on one side of the house (northside) and pecking at the glass. After a couple of days of getting woken at 7am i decided to shut the shutters which brought a stop to it. I then thought it would have got out of the habit a few days later so left the shutters open and it was back again. I have now left these shutters closed. Today, it is coming to the third window on that side and tapping away. I need this shutter open as it's my study window. Why is it doing it? It seems to be spending nearly all it's day doing this when it should be the mating season and nest making season.

iT SEE'S A REFLECTION OF HIMSELF IN THE GLASS AND THINKS IT ANOTHER MALE BIRD. SOME BIRDS WILL FIGHT TO THE DEATH OVER TERRITORY. TRY AND FIND A WAY TO GET RID OF THE REFLECTION LIKE OUTSIDE WINDOW TINT.
When it happened to us I downloaded a picture of a bird of prey and stuck it on the window which the stupid bird was attacking. I was fed up of cleaning bird snot off the glass
