Have you been watching this series all about what goes on and around a Race Track ,well the sad news is that it has been cancelled ,the cast and crew where just starting to film the 2nd series when one of the horses was being lead back to the stables when he reared up and fell backwards hitting its head unfortunately the horse died ,this was the 3rd horse to die involved in the making this series so the show was cancelled.with a loss of millions of dollars.
I expect Sky will run the rest of the series, but like so many American imports will be left without conclusion.
Three horses died this week at Cheltenham Races in ONE WEEK.

Ive been watching it as i was a huge fan of Deadwood and the writer David Milch's work. I have to say that it hasnt blown me away and at times ive found it hard to follow as i dont understand spread betting or horse racing! However it is a shame that so many new drama's never really get of the ground due to viewing figures or legal disputes etc.

BOOPER The show has been cancelled due to the death of the horses over the past 2 years I am not sure where you live but I understand the American viewing system goes by age group time slots and obviously viewing figures,
I do not totally understand the betting or Poker think that my main problem Is the accents of the actors,I think the 4 guys who have bought the horse are superb a very Marx Brothers mix.I hope that these writers will soon be back ,I would love to know how it was to end.
The death of the third horse during the shooting of season two was the icing on the cake, but there were other factors it would seem as to the shows demise. Viewing figures were very low for an HBO premier show and dropping, the Stornach group who owns Santa Anita where the racing is filmed werent happy at how the show was depicting Horse Racing and allegedly wanted to stop HBO using it. I guess it all added up and HBO decided to pull the plug rather than carry on. Its a shame and now just joins a long list of shows that never get going.
I'm sorry if people that were enjoying this show are feeling let down but I was eagerly looking forward to it after the much hyped ads but was totally disappointed and gave up after the first episode. I couldn't hear or understand the dialogue and hence couldn't follow the plot at all. I noticed when they announced the cancellation in the DM a large number of readers' comments complained about the same thing. Maybe the death of the 3 horses was the scapegoat, I don't know.
Prudie, glad you said that as i too found it hard to hear the dialogue, as if it wasnt confusing enough to a horse racing novice!
I think there were more horses killed at Cheltenham than three perhaps try five
It's so annoying when this happens. I watched the whole first series of Invasion, 22 episodes, only for it to be canned without any kind of resolution ...

Prudie/Blooper Very interesting information I agree with both of your comments ,I watched episode 8 last night and the dialogue was almost impossible to hear also for once the story was dragging .
Are you watching this series in the UK or USA.
