Does anyone have any idea of a method for securing a long strimmer on a trailer so that the engine does not bounce off the trailer floor when being transported. The trailer has metal sides, a ladder rack and a wooden floor, and is longer than the strimmer. Thanks.

Hang the engine over the front of the trailer and strap it down with bungie straps to either the tie points on the trailer, or simply to the draw bar.
I think that if you could tie it down flat to the trailer floor using cable ties, it should be secure enough to stop it bouncing around.
Wrap/tie the engine part in an old blanket or similar and secure the whole thing with bungies.
