She is approx 35 years old with 2 kids from different fathers.

She claims for her rent, council tax and child benefits etc and has for the past 6 months had a live in boyfriend, who works and she has been bragging locally that he gives her £150 a week for food and lodgings etc.

I want to report her but, dont want her kids to suffer as she is a bit of a p1ss artist and a very irresponsible person.

Flip, you are the one who said you 'only had a conviction for speeding' and that it wasn't the same thing at all. My point is that speeding has much worse potential consequences than benefit fraud so should not be considered a lesser crime.

So taking your 'logic' to its logical conclusion nox, because I was convicted of speeding in 2004, I should not shop a benefit cheat or anybody else who is committing a crime.

"My point is that speeding has much worse potential consequences than benefit fraud so should not be considered a lesser crime."

Subjective though aren't they?

The comparison sin't about whether one is is worse than the other, it is that they are comparable to each other which the definitely are not
What if we had the COW award for claimant of the week .Contender include a well know local couple nominated by their only daughter .Both fitness instructors claiming DLA and claiming for their six children in different parts of the world .
I have read all the points of view on this thread & I am amazed at the amount of people who do not regard false claims for benefit as a crime ( it would appear that quite a lot of folks appear to regard it as a bit of a giggle). Benefit fiddles are costing the country a lot of unnecessary waste of valuable funds ( do the people who condone this think it was also ok for MPs to fiddle their expenses ?).
ALL benefit fraud SHOULD be reported without question.

Ron..
the goverment dont have the guts or knowhow on how to deal with it ..The goverment comes up with these out landish figures on whats claimed by these frauds but neglect to tell us that their money and the money we get by working end back with treasurery in unfair tax .If you were burgled and things stole from you then you would put some sort of protection in action .So its to the goverment shame that the cheats are getting away with it .
oj, Nox asked flipflop if he could state he had never done anything illegal, to which flip replied he had only had a conviction for speeding as though this didn't count as a crime. My point was that it is indeed a crime and one that CAN have far worse consequences than benefit fraud. Flip brought up the topic of speeding, not me. And I was not bringing it up as a comparison, just pointing out that it is illegal and for good reason.
