Idiot guide to finding deleted files?

Hi,

It appears that I have deleted an excel file that I waned to keep but don't know if it is possible to retireve it again?

If it is and you can give me AN ABSOLUTE IDIOTS guide to get it back I would appreciate it.

Surely it will be in your recycle bin?

Your recycle bin? Ordinarily, it will be an icon on your desktop. What operating system are you running...?

I found the recycle bin and got it back.

I am a happy bunny now :)

Double-click your recycle bin icon on the desktop and in there you should see the deleted file. Right-click and select 'restore' or alternatively simply drag to desktop or other location by holding down the left mouse button.
