tbh I doubt many Scots make head 'nae' tail of Burns poems.

I'm not sure that one could wholeheartedly recommend Burns.

I know everyone cheers and applauds loudly when the sword chappie finishes the haggis poem, but I think that that's just because supper's on it's way.

Like some of the poems, but I don't know anyone who goes to Burns Suppers who isn't a policeman or a member of a golf club. They tend to be an excuse for the old boys' clubs to drink lots of whisky in the name of patriotism.
