Why do we do it every year? Its not as if it has anything to do with jesus or religion.Sop why do we continue with the Christmas farce ?

I give it a wide berth, along with some members of the family. It doesn't hold the interest it once did, and the fact it starts in september makes me believe that it's a totally commercial venture, and i wish that it would arrive middle of december, and be over and done by boxing day.

I love Christmas and I love being with my family like ummmm. My parents are getting on now and I make the most of every Christmas we still have together - not sure how I'll feel when they're gone though. Dad still cooks a mean Crimbo dinner !
I like Christmas as well there is no family member that I detest either. I do agree some people go FAR too overboard with it, but it is one of the few times that The four brothers and myself are actually at the same place at the same time (we live that far apart) and all do really get along (Partners included).... OK we leave the cooking, washing-up and cleaning to the Women but that's what its all about... isn't it!
;-)

we all muck-in really, besides it is too early yet... too many birthdays coming up. (plenty of time to fall-out)
I have no family any more (not that I ever spent Christmas with them) and Mr Cake's family are well distributed around the globe. On the odd year we host his parents it is a torment of formality and traditions (their traditions, not mine). On the years we have alone we have a fabulously chilled time eating what we want (which is never a traditional Christmas dinner), watching crap on TV and playing a lot of scrabble.
Good question. Was always happy that I never really got caught up in all that. Now that 's theres so much evidence that it is not a Christian holiday, I wonder why so many continue celebrating. I think they feel pressured to.
