blood test

i had some blood taken the other day to test for rheumatoid arthritis they put blood in 3 different containers do they test for other things at the same time? just could'nt understand why they could'nt do the testing from just one container, wish i had ask while i was there now.

They would have tested for rhuematoid factor in one tube (most probably a yellow or red topped one), perhaps also your FBC (full blood count) in a red or purpley coloured one, and maybe ESR (Erythrocyte sedimentation rate) in a black one. GP's tend to ask for a range of tests, and they require different preparations of the blood to be tested.
