hello darling!

my TSH was 4.5 last year, earlier this year was 3.3 and is now 3.9.

As you know, my lovely, my hair is departing rapidly and i could win the olympic medal for sleeping...

The GP temp I saw last time said it might be worth looking at my TSH, hence the previous values and re-test.

Sqad, do you think I need thyroid treatment? If so, what would you recommend? x

Then your thyroid is working perfectly.

My guess.........your symptoms are those of a depressive illness or evn the side effects of your anti depressives.
normal TSH is not the be all and end all....

The beginning of this video makes you think it's not serious, but it makes a serious point, bear with it.

kgmrush......this has always been a "bone of contention" in the medical world.....can a patient with a thyroid disorder have a normal TSH reading?
Can a patient have the symptoms of hypothyroidism and have a normal TSH?

I have a certain amount of sympathy with you view, but it boils down to a matter of opinion. One problem is, that there are many medical conditions which mimic the symptoms of hypothyroidism e.g depression.

This is the practical situation for the Dr..."should a patient with symptoms of hypothyroidism with a normal TSH be given thyroid supplement?"
Difficult decision, but i have my personal opinion.

Thanks handsome ;)

and thanks to all for your advice :)
Dont be too anxious to get on thyroid meds, they can cause their own probs, as in a rather high cholesterol level.
