Hi, last week my friend did some highlights in my hair using a basic highlighting kit from boots and foils, as my hair is naturally very dark the highlights have come out very brassy with an orange tinge to them. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what colour i could put on my hair to even it out a little, but still keep it light. Plus, have I to get a permanent or semi-permanent? Thanks x

None of the home use highlight kits are strong enough to work successfully on dark hair and they just produce a brassy yellow/orange colour. Personally, I would consult a hairdresser to see how they can help you. You can buy a silver shampoo (Clynol) which will soften the highlights down.
Born Blonde (or maybe Belle Blonde) used to have blonde toners that you put over bleached hair to tone down the brassiness, they work pretty well, not sure if they are still sold though... good luck :)
As above, but I have dark hair and used to lighten, if mine turned out brassy, I would put on a golden blonde colour by Movida. It's a semi perminant, but it does last until your roots come through!
Found it:

Much the same as what Pixi recommends and it does work quite well. You can use it as much as you like and it will gradually tone the orange down without affecting your dark hair at all.
Just to add that Hair Supermarket are very good and when I have ordered products have arrived the next day!
