This is a bit dubious Owllady. Do the ??? represent the number of letters so it is 5. Could be HOWES (in the Lake District) if you pronounce it HOSE. HOLT is pronounced wrong so it MIGHT be right
And a further thought along the same lines, it could be Hawes but not totally convinced by either!
On the right track,KUSTARD but there is a place called Hose in Leicestershire!
Ah, is it a 5-lettered word-if so then Hose is out.I was thinking of a gasket ( I had a burst gasket once) but can only find a place called Gasker
Don't burst a gasket trying to get the answer Quinie Mwahahaha!. Isn't it annoying though when you can't find anything that fits?! (had to look at your answer to see if you'd cracked it - the question not a radiator!)

Thanks for your thoughts KUSTARD & quinie, all I could think of was hose but couldn't find a place, but Hawes could be right as some of the spellings have been changed to fit the story.
There's a place called Tiree in Scotland but it may not fit in with the leak.
Hi,owllady, there is definitely a village called Hose. I found it in the list of place names in the Uk-I've googled it too,but if the answer has 5 letters then it's no good anyway
Hi, I know there is a place in Yorkshire called Hawes
