pc speakers not working

Howdy.two of my speakers have stopped working.i`ve swopped them into the other connections and still wont work.Can i just buy new speakers,connect them up with no problems or will my pc ``play up``? Many thanks.

new ones should be ok, as you "two of" i imagine its surround sound or something? theres maybe a cabling problem or something rather than the speakers unless you've had them turned way up for a long time.

spike-twox. Thanks for advice.not had them turned up loud so i`ll maybe buy a new 5.1 system .cheers.
