Does anyone have any ideas where I can get a replacement garage door key. It is an electronic key (the kind where you push a button and the doors open and close). Basically my parents have gone away and while looking after their hose feeding their pets etc I've managed to run over the key in my car and smash it to pieces. I rang my mum and she said that you can get anymore and it probably can't be fixed. She sounded peed off and dissapointed and I feel like a complete moron. I must be able to get a replacement or something. People must lose or break these type of keys all the time. Any ideas anyone?

If you have the model of either key or garage door, google it. I have electronic gates and that's how I can replace mine.
Usually, you'd be supplied with two when new- where's the other?

gingejbee the other one broke a long time ago. coccinellegood advice i will try and find out the model name or number. Thanks
Perhaps your mum should be peed off with herself for not replacing the first one to break- while she had the chance! Just remind her of that, if she gives you grief.

Swiper -are you sure that your parents didn't just go away and leave the garage door locked so that you couldn't swipe their car!!!
^ Yep .. that sounds more likely : )
you should really go back to the manufacturer for this, as most newer cars are now laser cut keys. And not readily available from locksmiths. Media URL: http://www.fastkeys.co.uk/
