Does anybody know how old this statue of Dick Whittington's cat is?

The one that sits at the bottom of Highgate Hill, surrounded by iron bars. I'm not sure who made it or how old the statue is. It appears to be a fairly modern addition to an older stone monument, but I could be wrong?

The stone is much older than the cat.
A photo of this appears in "Islington - the Second Selection", "Images of England" series, with the following notes:
Medieval stone broken up 1795. Two replacements, most recent 1821. Repaired 1935, reset in new surround of railings 1950. Moved to corner Magdala Avenue. 1964, Donald Blisset, actor and children's author, commissioned figure of cat to be set on top of the stone.
