I use my iPhone 3 to access my Gmail account, my work email, a Hotmail account and a Windows Live Mail account. Since I updated the phone to the iPhone 4 software, every email, that I have ever received on my Hotmail and Live accounts and downloaded, so showing 25 new emails on each account every time I manually check my mail. When all the emails have been downloaded and I delete them (although not from the server), it starts again! Not only is it annoying, but it must be using more of my data allowance than if it was just downloading new emails, not to mention battery power, which is very scarce on the iPhone 3. Can anyone advise how I can only download NEW mail to my iPhone?? This doesn't happen with my Gmail or work accounts, just the Live/Hotmail ones.
