Nickel allergy tested??

if something is labelled "Nickel allergy tested" does this mean it is nickel free? or there is not enough nickel to cause an allergy?? can anyone point me somewhere that explains this?

Where I used to work, anything white gold or made of 'other' metal (eg steel watch buckles) needed to be sent to a metal assaying office to check that the nickel content was within allowed limits. Try looking up Birmingham Assaying Offices website (not sure exactly what they're called) it may give you in depth info.

I think it's either nickel free or neglible traces of it.


A friend had an allergic reaction to nickel and found one of the biggest causes was diet coke.
