Noisy Washing Machine

I have an Indesit WM12X integrated washing machine. It is about 3 years old. It has become very noisy, especially when spinning. It's a kind of rythmic grinding noise. I've got a long-term warranty/insurance plan covering this machine and have called the engineer out twice. Each time they say there is nothing wrong with it. They say all examples of the model are like this. It certainly has not always been this way so something has changed during its life. It is intolerable to be in the kitchen when it is running - it's just so noisy you can't hear yourself think or conduct a conversation.
Has anybody any suggestions as to what might be wrong, or what the legal position might be? It seems to me that I'm paying for cover on it but when it comes down to it the engineers just want to fob me off with the old line "They all do that sir" !
What should I do?

Sounds (pardon the pun) like some bearings are coming to the end of there life. As a suggestion contact your insurance company again and cc Indesit (by letter / email) and ask them if they believe this in normal noise you should expect.
This is providing you have not abused the machine i.e overloading it etc
Alvi,it sounds like the bearings have had it. Take hold of the drum (empty)and try lifting up and down. It shouldn't be easily moved. normally they cam move a bit but you can feel the weights pushing back.
I would say it is the main drum bearings, too.
This is available with/without mounting spider. You will need the full caboodle if it fails badly.
Here are the parts ...

I've no wish to pry into your private pastimes but you haven't lost a bit of an underwired bra recently have you?
I've been having the same problem with my Indesit, different model though. I've tried balancing it and cleaning out the filter (twice found these little garden plant tags in there - nothing to do with me so who knows how long they have been there!) but no joy.

The dial has now started clicking round and stopping the wash mid cycle indicating a fault so I think it's knackered!
