I have only just started using Photoshop Element and wonder if its possible to do a star filter effect on photographs (sparkle from a ring or lamp) using the standard Photoshop Elements package or to I have to buy a plug in of some sort.

I know Im a wuss but...

Not sure exactly what your after, but is the "Lens Flare" effect of any use?

HI Metaphysical and thanks for the info. The effect I was looking for was a Starburst filter .. like a lense flare but in a star shape. After I posted this question I search around and found http://www.ephotozine.com/techniques/viewtechnique
