On this Day 25 years ago!!!

This was in my daily paper the Express today that publishes what happened 100, 75, 50 and 25 years ago on the day.

The 2 muggers stole £20 from a bus conductress and the judge said, '' Violence is going to be crushed out of existence in my court ''

I suppose they would get community service these days!

Wonder what the judge would be saying now? Seems he had the right idea then, pity more didn't follow suit to make the punishment fit the crime.
