Hot & smelly up there today! Lots of kittens, fitting them in all over! Only rehomed 1 kitten today & only 4 people came to look round. Got a phonecall from a man wanting an 'Unneutered' cat/kitten. Told him ALL ours are neutered from 6 weeks old & he said it is cruel. I told him we have 600 cats on our waiting list & are full to the brim! He still said it was cruel & that it is nature. I said tell that to all the cats/kittens living alone on the streets & the ones dumped in boxes & then i hung up!!

If he thinks indiscriminate breeding is nature then does he also think that if the animal gets ill then just leave it to die because that is nature too. I wonder where he'd draw the line.

Too true ratty.
I can't understand that attitude from people and it's sad that there are still those who think like it. Displays a great deal of ignorance really. Sorry the day wasn't too successful - maybe people are thinking about holidays and not wanting to take on a pet until they return.
Perhaps the man should be de-nutted to prevent him from breeding like-minded children.

Actually in my current mood can I volunteer ?
It's always the ones who don't have to deal with the results that call neutering/speying cruel. You're doing a great job - ignore him.
What's up Wolf63/
carmalee - just PMS grumpy. Have you ever noticed how extra annoying men are at that time of the month ?

kat1 - apart from anything else little tom cats look better from behind with no balls. 'Real' toms are not good pets - they just fight, eat, make kittens and spray.

I think that we have had that argument before. :-)

I have a nice pair of rusty bolt cutters you can borrow....

its not pmt time it's all the time....
with very few exceptions
soon be back to normal Wolfie - thank goodness I don't have to worry about that!
Good on ya kat x
I have some tin snips in the back of my car, been there for ages, things growing on them. They sound like the ideal tool to turn your caller into a unoch.

Just got a lovely boxer from my local rescue centre, when I get back from holiday I'll be back there for a kitten too. They do a fantastic job, all volunteers and the whole setup funded by donations and a small profit on the neutering / microchipping / vaccination costs.
