Ladies (and TVs I suppose), is there anything wrong with making your lips look fuller by applying lipstick outside the line of your lips? I'm sure I've seen this on models but the Countess vociferously denies this.

I think some of them might stretch the limits by drawing lip liner just around the outside. If you put lipstick there it looks terrible though.

We have Romanian girls that come to work with us, they often put lipstick all around their top lip and above, looks ridiculous!! they usually realise after they have been here for a while that the British find it rather silly!
Ooh no, it looks awful! I'm with headwreck, you can use glosses and such to get more of a fuller looking effect.

It would appear I'm in the wrong. Many thanks.
I don't need a fuller effect - in fact I apply lipstick just inside my lip line and smugde it slightly.

I remember an aunt of mine who used to draw on a very exaggerated cupids bow and paint her lips bright red back in the 50's. As a child, it fascinated me!!
But you are not wrong count, lots of models do apply their lipstick outside of their lipline, even if they already have huge botoxed lips.
No, no and thrice no.

I don't even wear lipstick these days. Hardly facilitates a good snog!
It looks awful outside the lip edge - as do those people who use a very dark lipliner, then fill in the lips with another shade. It looks like you're wearing drag makeup.
Natural coloured lips look better in my opinion. I must admit to wearing lipstick, but not a very noticeable colour. Just makes lips look a bit more healthy. Mind you I never reapply it, so most of the time no lipstick.
I've seen women who have a dark outline and a lighter lip colour. Out of politness you can't say anything, but surely when they look in the mirror they can see how daft it looks.

As for trying to make your lips look bigger, well what's the problem, whatever keeps you happy with your appearance. But again too much just looks weird close up. One needs good taste, and not be blind to the real affect.
