Help with credit cards??

i was looking to get a loan for a car but then thought about a credit card with 18 months interest free on balance transfers, does anyone know if there is a maximum you can borrow on them?, need about £3000.

Mortgage / debt dilemma

Can someone point me out in the right direction?

Hang on, I've done a balance transfer from my credit card to my current account and had it treated as a balance transfer not a cash advance... so I think it depends on the credit card.

thanks for all the advice people but think i may stay away from credit cards as i don't know enough and just save :-) and whoever posted a comment that was removed, if you've got nothing constructive to say, why bother, or do you just like being an arse?
