I went to a 'gay wedding' in 2007, in fact I was ring bared and chief bridesmaid :-) it was my sister and sil wedding and it was fantastic! Had the ceremony then to a kind of football club hall with a gorgeous sit down meal, great party and a lovely buffet in the evening. Was definitely a day to remember!!

Last wedding we went to was spoiled by the hotel being double booked. They said they would cope..but we arrived at the reception at 3pm and didnt get fed til 8pm. By this time everyone was hammered

Welcome Rowetta. The last one was 7 years ago and I have one to go to in July. I have avoided those inbetween, but July's wedding will be informal and all my lovely family are getting together.

A bit like Cazz, I would prefer to wear jeans and T shirt, but have comprised with trousers and a hippy type top!!


Generally, I can't stand weddings. I didn't have a 'wedding' I just went and got married on a Monday morning!!

August 2010 was the last wedding i was at. Think the groom had got out of bed on the wrong side in the morning, he was grumpy all day, snapping at everyone. Their two wee ones then started screaming when the groom was told to "kiss the bride". Got to the hall they hired for the Reception to find no-one had arranged the dining room, so everyone had to muck in to set the tables. Almost a year on and we are still waiting for a thank you card for the gift of money towards a holiday whiich they had requested!!

I went to a workmate's wedding two weeks ago. I didn't know any of the other guests or even his bride, but my wife and I both had a wonderful time meeting new friends.
