so i've been listening to the birds and watching the nesting boxes in the garden, but they're no where near the company. I miss my dogs - they are in Devon as I can't exercise them at the moment, and just leaving them to the garden here wouldn't be fair. Kiltie (my little Westie) is having a whale of a time chasing rabbits - she was too tired for her walk over the moors last night. My brother said he called her and she was spark-out in her basket. All she was fit for was a tummy tickle and a doggie treat.....me too - but i'll pass on the doggie treat! District nurse managed to pull out a stitch whilst changing the dressing this morning. OUCH

I had to have a pin put in my wobbly clicketty clacketty knee! I'm going around the house on an office chair at the moment as it's got wheels - can't walk on my leg until the 23rd of this month :(
time will go past quickly enough... i am missing Tinkerbell the cat I couldn't take her when I move so house mate has kept her... can't have pets where I live now so I am catless for the first time in over 30 years feels really odd.... I've started trying to tempt strange kitties in the street for a bit of a fuss...
Question Author
You want to get yourself a box of those kitty treats - are they called Dreamies? Have you seen the ad? The cat hurls himself through the wall for a treat!
When I had my knee pinned I was in plaster for 6 weeks............
Question Author
Didn't say I was getting the plaster off - or the dressing, I said It's not until the 23rd that I can walk on it
okay mercia.............I was only commenting.
youd think that the hospital would give you a wheelchair, an office chair cant be safe at all, youre risking all sorts of extra damage if you come off
Question Author
I should be in bed by rights...I'd go mental.
why don t; you get a wheelchair you could go out then

My leg is straight, I'm worried it would get knocked - coz there's one thing I know, I'm NOT having this done again!!
I'd worry more about it getting knocked rolling around on an office chair. The wheelchair is built for a purpose, the office chair isnt
you can get them with elevated leg rests
Oh Mercia that does sound rough for you, I agree a chair suitable for the purpose would be safer, ask the occupational therapy team vis the District nurses. How on earth did she manage to pull out a stitch? Obviously you aren't in plaster as Craft was, do take care.
Got my x-ray and check up on Monday which will be six weeks in plaster and like you mercia not allowed to put weight on it yet. I've been loaned one of these by the hospital but as it's your knee you wouldn't be able to use. I definitely would have asked for a wheelchair. Hopefully we'll both be back on our feet soon.

I've got a band of plaster around my calf and one around my thigh holding some metal framework in place, and have a dressing over the knee wound - she used Melolin, which isn't supposed to stick to the wound, I don't know if she moved it by accident when bandaging me up but when she took the bandage off, she pulled at the dressing and it tugged out a stitch at the end. Hubby's back very late tonight he's managed to get an earlier flight so he said he'd sort something for me.
