I really am not bothered about people coming here and settling here Helen, providing they can contribute and pay taxes, I mentioned earlier also, we have a lot of Doctors/Nurses who we have to be grateful to, all from overseas
Two Romainian jokes:

A whole country steals = Romania

How to make a Romanian omelet:

I'm laughing in the corner so you can't see, DT....
sorry there - wrong thread
ha-ha DT, thanks for the lighter take...:-)
Just like the benefit system everyone ignored postdogs post. Should we not look after those who HAVE worked here first.
It seems strange when lots of you are saying we should help any immigrant who comes into the country.
You seem to blank out the people some of which worked here for many years become sick and are unable to work and can claim bugger all.

My god how infuriating this was to me!! I've contributed all my life, lost my job because of health reasons, supported myself since last April living off my medical pension, and because I couldn't afford the mortgage, ended up moving miles away to another area where my otgoings would be less. Yet because I have moved - within my country - all I have done is encountered red tape when trying to get the benefits I need and get nowhere. Yet they can can just swap country's and get it all.

This is what is getting up a lot of peoples noses, those who have worked for most of their lives find they get FA when they need help.
I agree SUSPECT

/// Obviously you cannot come to this country unless you are white, have family in this country ///

Where have you seen this announced, then you have the nerve to criticise the 'Mail', nothing more than emotional clap-trap.

/// sometimes when I see some peoples attitudes I am ashamed to be British.///

Well then either put them up yourself or go with them, back to where they come from.

If we must accept them, then put them into the empty concrete high- rise flats until their claims for asylum are reviewed,

A couple of items of “small print” to consider when deciding if taxpayers’ dosh is heading in the right direction:

The Coalition is keen to publicise their proposed “Universal Pension” where all pensioners will receive a State Pension of around £150 per week. Except that they will not. Only those who are new pension claimants at the time of its introduction will get the higher amount. Existing pensioners (including those who had contributed up to 44 years of National Insurance payments) will be stuck on the lower rate of around £40 per week less..

Visually impaired people who are new claimants to the mobility component of the Disability Living Allowance are now able to claim £51.40 per week. Existing claimants (who again are likely to be older) will be stuck on the current rate of £19.55.

To extend both these schemes to everybody (including those who have paid in the most) we are told would be “unaffordable”.

That is what makes me ashamed to be British.

Best thing the old and blind can do is to get a day trip to Calais, chuck their passports in the sea and travel back strapped underneath a lorry.
