I was not in anyway getting 'misty eyed' over you, far from it.
That post was my way of trying to get a little adultness back into the debate, the Ed. could see the way it was going, hence him putting a block on it.
But it looks as if you are not adult enough to let bygones be bygones, and get back to what is after all only a recreational pass time.
I put my hand out to you, but you obviously are not prepared to grasp it. I am sorry that you are not prepared to accept me as your friend, but for the record, at least I tried.
Referring to jack-the-hat being gay, no I had no idea, and I wouldn't be rude enough to ask her outright, just in case I had it wrong.

Sprinter I couldn't agree more.
However if a person posts a question and recives a reply they don't like, the normal thing would be to re-inforce your point, with fact or reasoned debate or indeed retire.
When the questioner fails to this but insults the reply on a personal basis, completley ignoring the reply or any salient points made in said reply, where does that leave you?
If that poster then accuses you of doing exactly what they are doing, it raises more than a few hackles.
When the questioner does it repeatedly and they are following the same agenda over and over again, what is someone supposed to do.
The written word can be hard medium to get your point over with, especially as I suspect, like me, many of us are distracted by other things, but sometimes you just have to stand up.

Thank you for your post, I am sorry I have not answered you before, but I had to go out for a while.
I know that we don't often come to agreement over our own personal slants on certain issues, but I am so pleased that we have now come to a reasonable agreement over this much more important issue, by that I mean a continued fellowship on AnswerBank.
I accept your apologies for any past aggression shown to me, just as I also wish you will accept my apologies for anything that I have said that annoyed you.
AnswerBank has too few real debaters, without the genuine one's refusing to debate with each, that is why there are an increasing number of those that just like to sit on the side lines stirring up trouble, these offer no particular valuable input whatsoever.
There appears too few people on this site that are prepared to enter a controversial question up for debate or give their opinion on a subject that has been entered by someone else
So please lets continue to accept what subject a ABer puts up for debate, then agree or disagree accordingly to one's own particular agenda, without the need to lose one's temper, which in turn ends up in insults
That's not to say we can't become infuriated at times, it wouldn't be a heated debate if we tried to be too placid.

In looking for something else, I cam upon this.....
<<anotheoldgit - Question Author
The usual abuse we have all come to expect from some of the Gay community, when one dares to enter into any form of discussion with them.
Unless one is prepared to wear the pink bow, they will dismiss you as being bigoted, but I much prefer to be called a bigot than the other option.
