Kindle. Should I buy or not?

I was thinking about buying an Amazon Kindle for a family member. Could anybody who already has one, please let me know whether it comes supplied with a USB cable to transfer the ebook material or whether content can only be transfered by Wi-Fi.
My laptop is the only computer at home & they would rely on me to put the next book onto the device but I've not enabled WI-Fi on my computer & have reservations about doing so for speed & security reasons.
All advice would be appreciated.

If you get the 3G Kindle they can purchase books without using yours or their own computer.
It comes with a Micro USB cable for charging and the transfer of files. If it has a network connection (WiFi or 3G if you have that model) you can buy things from Amazon direclty from the Kindle and they will be delivered wirelessly and automatically to the Kindle.

If you are concerned about WiFi, buy the 3G model - the 3G usage is free and comes with no contract.
yep, get the 3g version then no need for use of your computer at all
