A friend in the States saw something on the Travel Channel about underground caves and catacombs in and around London.  Does anyone know of these and if you can tour them?  I did a catacomb tour in Edinburgh and loved it!

Thanks in advance!!

if you're in London, rush to get last week's Time Out, all about underground London. Includes the Camden Catacombs (21ft down, for pit ponies; closed), the post office railway (closed; shown in Hudson Hawk with Bruce Willis), Cabinet War Rooms (open) etc. No actual catacombs, though.
There are catacombs are Kensal Green cemetery see this link to find tour dates etc. http://www.bbc.co.uk/london/yourlondon/unitedcolours/cem eteries/kensal_green_open_day.shtml
Chislehurst Caves in Chislehurst in Kent near Bromley do tours, it is also said to be haunted, many stories emerge including one where a man stayed overnight and came out in the morning with a shock of white hair. Just one of many stories...

Thanks so much to everyone!!!

jno, I saw the Time Out!  My friend who told me about it is visiting London, and he gets a free copy of Time Out in his room.  I saw the cover and I said 'uhh...is THIS what you were talking about?'  It was such a weird coincidence!!

Jules, Kensal Green looks cool, I just wish they were doing them when my friend is here.  But I can go another time!

DillyGent, I think that is what he heard about on TV in the States!  We might go do it tomorrow, thanks for the info!!
