I have been advised that I require a 600mm X 1200mm Double panel - Double convector central heating radiator for my hallway. A friend has suggested a Delonghi Compact radiator, but these are nearly 3 times the price os say a Stelrad, are they really worth the greater price and what is the difference in the performance? Does anyone have any knowledge of this. If so I should welcome your comments. Many thanks.

Efficiency is not an issue with radiators unless you haven't much room and need a very compact one. It is the efficiency of your boiler that matters, If your radiators aren't veryefficient they will run hotter to give the same heat output as a more efficent one. If you aren't worried about having whacky stylish radiators then go for the one that gives the heat...

Have a look at Wickes. Only a few pence difference between theirs and Stelrad's, but Wickes 600mm x 1200mm gives out 2332 Watts compared to 2028 Watts for the Stelrad.

If you aren't worried about having whacky stylish radiators then go for the one that gives the heat output you want at the lowest price as per Heathfields suggestion. You might need that little bit extra heat during a very cold spell.
